Madison Anderson, representing Toa Baja, was crowned the new Miss Universe Puerto Rico during a national finale held on June 13 at the Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce in San Juan. She bested 27 other candidates to win the right to represent the Caribbean island in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition.
Estefanía Soto of San Sebastian and Fabiola Valentín of Camuy placed first and second runners-up, respectively. Miss Carolina, Miss Dorado and Miss Cayey (chosen via public vote) completed the Top 6.
23-year-old Madison is a student of marketing and public relations and works closely with victims of domestic violence.
In 2014, she participated in Miss Teen USA and two years later represented Puerto Rico in Miss Grand International. In the first place, she was the first finalist in Miss Florida USA.
