Jean De Dieu Ntabanganyimana, top model from Rwanda, was named Mister Africa International 2017 at the finals night held on December 2, 2017, at BWC Hotel, Lagos in Nigeria. He took over the title from last year winner Akok Dol from South Sudan.
25-year-old Jean from Kigali City, Rwanda bested 16 other contestants and succeeded last year’s winner Akol Dok of Sudan.

2nd Runner-Up: Mr. Sierra Leone
3rd Runner-Up: Mr. Botswana

The competition kicked off in the vibrant city of Ibadan in partnership with visit Ibadan were the contestants toured and took part in prejudging activities before heading to Lagos for the finale.
As a winner of the contest, Jean also known as Jay Rwanda, wins several prizes which included Modelling opportunities and contract and sponsorships. As a Mister Africa International 2017, he has attended Mr Tourism Nigeria.
After winning the the contest, the elated Jay said, “I thank the Almighty God for another blessing and I would like to thank everyone who supported me, especially Rwanda, the organizing team (House of Twitch) and all contestants. You have been good to me and it was a very good experience to get along with you.”
Mister Africa International is a male fashion competition which was founded by Ayotunde ‘Twitch’ Fabamwo in an effort to empower young Africans and raise money for charity. The first edition of Mister Africa International date back to 2010 when Ayotunde started a male pageant Mr Ideal Nigeria. The success of Mr Ideal Nigeria eventually led the foundation of an International pageant for African men under the management of House of Twitch by Ayotunde himself. Today House of Twitch is an event management company popularly known for its production of Mr Ideal Nigeria, Miss Ideal Nigeria and Mister Africa international. Mister Africa International 2017 is the sixth edition with its previous edition being held in London and Botswana.
