Lauren McDonagh who represented Donegal at the 70th annual Miss Ireland Pageant that took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin on 22 September 2017 walked away with the crown of Miss Ireland 2017 besting 27 other regional representatives of Ireland. She was crowned by the outgoing queen Niamh Kennedy.
Miss Cork, Tara O’Leary, finished in second place while Miss Dublin North, Vanessa Boland, finished in third place.
18 years old Lauren is currently studying Health and Social care while also working part time as a Beauty Therapist. She became Miss Donegal earlier this year following a function in The Cavern, Letterkenny.
Lauren will now represent Ireland at Miss World 2017 to be held in Sanya, China in November.
