Josephine Mutesi Nabirye, a representative of Iganga, has won the crown of Miss Earth Uganda 2017 v. The 23-year-old aspiring pharmacist defeated 13 other contestants and succeeded Priscilla Achieng, Miss Earth Uganda 2016.
Mutesi will now represent Uganda at Miss Earth 2017 pageant in the Philippines, in November.
Monica Abuko, a contestant from Soroti, took second position (Miss Earth Air Uganda 2017). Laura Lebu (Miss Adjumani) and Sharon Namugenyi (Miss Luweero) took third and fourth positions (Miss Earth Water Uganda 2017 and Miss Earth Fire Uganda 2017) respectively.
