6-foot tall beauty and a professional model, Ingrid Franco, bested 20 other contestants to win the Miss Earth Dominican Republic 2017 crown during a gala held at Hotel Barcelo Santo Dominigo, Dominican Republic. She succeeds Miss Earth Dominican Republic 2016 Nicole Jimeno Morel.
She previously competed for the title of Miss Tierra Republica Dominicana in 2015 where she placed as first runner up and represented her country in Miss Supranational. For winning the crown this year, Ingrid will now compete in Miss Earth 2017 to be held in November in Philippines.
Ingrid got to wear the revamped crown by George Wittels. It was studded with Larimar, a precious gem only found in the region of Dominican Republic. Dominican Republic has yet to win the Miss Earth title and the closest it got to it was in 2005 when Amell Yoselin was adjudged first runner up.
