Among the 8 hopefuls for the crown, Miss San Juan, Chandini Chanka, emerged as the best and walked away with the crown of Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2017 during a national finale held at the Central Back Auditorium, Eric Williams Plaza, Port of Spain on July 16, 2017. She succeeds Daniella Walcott.
She will represent Trinidad & Tobago at the Miss World pageant to be held in China in November.
At the same gala, first runner up was Melissa Aguilleira and the second runner up was Tanisha Lalla.
The 22 year old, who won her first beauty pageant as Miss Divali Nagar 2015, is a law student of UWI and plays the Sitar.
