Vena Mookram bested 9 other hopefuls to win Miss World Guyana 2017 held last night at the Marriot Hotel. She was crowned by last year winner Nuriyyih Gerard. As a winner of the contest, she got the right to represent her country at Miss World 2017 to held in December in December.
At the same gala, first Princess spot was won by Manisha Wong and second Princess title went to Ariel Ghanie.
18 year old Veena who is a die hard fan of Harry Potter and fitness enthusiast, is a resident of Diamond New Housing Scheme and a student at The Bishops’ High School where she attends sixth form and is in the process of writing her Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination.
For her Beauty with a purpose project, the new queen of Guyana plans to promote physical fitness and nutrition in the hopes to curb the growing trend of chronic disease in persons.
