The judges for Miss USA 2017 competition has been revealed. Six eminent personalities have been chosen to judge the the contestants on 14 May 2017 to select USA’s representative to Miss Universe 2017 contest. The six judges are an expert in their chosen field. But they will definitely have a hard time judging the girls and select only one contestant out of 51 contestants.
Here are the judges for Miss USA 2017:
1. Jeannie Mai:
Jeannie Mai is a hostess, fashion expert, executive producer and TV personality. As a fashion expert, she is frequently featured on numerous television programs and networks such as NBC’s Today Show on the “Fashion Tips Today” segment, Extra TV, Entertainment Tonight, Insider and E! Entertainment as well as Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. After appearing as a co-host several times in both the pageant, she will be seen as a judge for the first time.
2. Janet Mock
Janet Mock is an American writer, TV host, transgender rights activist, author of the New York Times bestseller Redefining Realness, contributing editor for Marie Claire, and former staff editor of People magazine’s website. In 2015, Time magazine named her one of “the 30 Most Influential People on the Internet” and one of “12 New Faces of Black Leadership”
3. Carlson Kressley
Carlson is a television personality, actor and designer. He was the fashion expert on the American television program Queer Eye, where he was one of the show’s “Fab Five”. In 2005, he acted as a judge for the Miss Universe pageant, which aired live from Bangkok, Thailand. In 2006, he returned to the Miss Universe pageant, but as commentator, and was also commentator for the 2006 Miss USA pageant.
4. Halima Aden
Halima Aden is noted for being the first Somali-American to compete in the Miss Minnesota USA 2016 pageant, becoming the first model to wear a burkini or a hijab and later on she was signed to IMG Models.
5. Nancy Lublin
Nancy Lublin is the CEO of Crisis Text Line and was the creator of Dress for Success. She also served as the CEO of Do Something Inc., a company that attempts to mobilize youth to participate in social change, from 2003 to 2015. Nancy has published her works such as Zilch: The Power of Zero in Business, “Do Something!: A Handbook for Young Activists” and “Pandora’s Box: Feminism Confronts Reproductive Technology”.. She was named one of Fortune’s “World’s 50 Greatest Leaders” (2014) and Marie Claire’s “20 Women Changing the World” (2014). She was also named also named to the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders (2007).
6. Brook Lee
Brook Lee, is an American actress, TV Host, model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Hawaii USA 1997, Miss USA 1997, and Miss Universe 1997. She is the host of a regional television show known as Pacific Fusion, which focuses on Asian-American lifestyles. She has also hosted episodes of Great Cruises on the Travel Channel. She has appeared in TV shows such as Sexiest Bachelor in America Pageant (2000) and 2006 Asian Excellence Awards (2006).
