Thailand’s Jiratchaya Sirimongkolnawin crowned Miss International Queen 2016

Host country, Thailand’s Jiratchaya Sirimongkolnawin was crowned Miss International Queen 2016 at the gala in 12th year, was held at the Tiffany’s nightclub, Pattaya City, which is famous for its transvestite cabaret. Brazil’s Nathalie Oliveira and Venezuala’s Andrea Collazo finished  as 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively.

The 25-year-old model and fashion designer beat 24 other contestants for the crown. The biggest beauty pageant for transgender women was to take place in November last year but was postponed as the host country Thailand mourned the death of its monarch.

Best Evening Gown Award – Miss Brazil
Best Talent Award – Miss Italy
Best Introductory Video Award – Miss Mexico
Miss Photogenic Award – Miss Philippines

History of the contest:
Miss International Queen began in 2004 and has been held annually in Pattya City since then.Contestants must have been born a male and between the age of 18 and 35. They can be at any stage of their gender reassignment surgery.

Thailand has the most winning candidates with four.  Philippines is second  with two titles, and Venezuela, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, Mexico and the US, each with one crown.
