22-year old Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray, a Filipino-Australian host, model, singer and blogger, was crowned Miss World Philippines 2016 during the annual gala held October 2nd at the Manila Hotel.
Gray who beat 24 other contestants, received her crown from last year’s winner, Hilarie Parungao, who finished in the Top 10 in the 2015 Miss World pageant in China.
As a winner of Miss World Philippines 2016, Catriona apart from her coveted crown, received P500,000 a brand new Hyundai Eon car, and earned the right to represent the Philippines in the 2016 Miss World pageant in Washington D.C. in December. She also took home a management contract from Viva Artist Management Agency worth P1 million.
2nd place went to Arienne Calingo and 3rd place went to Ivanna Pacis. Marah Munoz and Sandra Lemonon completed the Top 5 finalists.

During the top 12 Q & A round, she was asked, ‘When you get up in the morning and look in the mirror, what do you see?’
‘I see someone who is constantly trying to be better. I always endure to always be better than the day before, to do things that challenge me, to do things outside the box. And something very fulfilling that I have found is when I look in the mirror and I want to see someone who gives back to the community. That’s what I see every single day. Thank you so much.’

‘To be a Miss World is to passes the torch that burns with passion and purpose. If I am to become Miss World Philippines, I would dedicate my voice and essence to carry that torch and to set charitable causes alike such as my personal advocacy, the Paraiso: Bright Beginnings Project. And I would focus on passing on this torch to empower others because I believe together, there is no darkness in this world that our light can’t overcome.’
