The first ever edition of Man of the Year 2016 contest which took place from 13-20 August, 2016 to search a man who embodies a quality of Marterly, Mascular, Mindful, Manly and Modern was won by Karan Singhdole from the Philippines on Saturday, August 20 at the Grand Central Hotel Pekanbaru in Indonesia. Other winners include 1st runner-up Mister Lebanon Tarek Moaykel, 2nd runner-up Mister Netherlands Tim Bertrams, 3rd runner-up Mister Vietnam Trịnh Xuân Nhản and 4th runner-up Mister Indonesia, Meirizal Rifa’i.
Karan, who is of Indian descent, is a model and a Hotel and Restaurant Management student from Sta. Rosa, Laguna. He was one of the finalists in Misters of Filipinas 2015 and was selected as Man of the Year Philippines to compete in Man of the Year 2016 contest.
As a winner of the contest, Karan will be the ambassador of Man of the Year org. and has several social responsibilites which include a campaign of “SAVE TURTLE, SAVE ORANGUTAN, LOVELY PANDA”. Apart from this, he will work with three different agencies in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore to foray into the world of modelling and entertainment.
