Radio personality Nuriyyih Gerard who represented represented Region Eight, Potaro/Siparuni was crowned Miss World Guyana 2016 held at Rahaman’s Park at Houston, East Bank Demerara. Treasure James  was adjudged as First Princess  while Najuma Nelson was adjudged as Second Princess.  she
The two-hour-long pageant,, featured seven beautiful ladies who represented seven of the ten administrative regions.

Nuriyyih – the crowd favourites in the pageant, also won the talent competition with her original song ‘Hope.’
