Yana Dobrovolskaya from Tyumen has won the Miss Russia-2016 title against Fifty Russian beauties who took part in the national beauty contest final, which ended at the Barvikha Luxury Village on Saturday evening. Yuliana Korolkova from Orenburg region was first runner up and Yulia Khoroshavina from Kirov was second runner up.
Dobrovolskaya received an exclusive 1-million-dollar crown – made of white gold and decorated with diamonds and pearls – from the hands of Miss Russia-2015 from Sofia Nikitchuk. The trademark golden crown was created by Maksim Voznesensky’s “Jewellery Theatre” shop in 2010. This year’s contest topic was “space”, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s first spaceflight.
Dobrovolskaya also got 3 million rubles (45,147 U.S. dollars), a car and more importantly – the right to represent Russia at the Miss World and Miss Universe beauty contests.
On being asked about her thoughts and preparations for international pageant, she replied “I took part at Sochi Olympic Games as an artist, therefore I know what it is to protect the honor of the country. I love my country and I will do everything to make a worthy performance.”
