In a close competition for the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2015, Unoaku Anyadike representing Anambra state emerged as a winner. She bested 36 other contestants to win the title and now she will represent Nigeria at the Miss World pageant. Her First runner up – Debbie Collins representing the state Ebonyi will compete at Miss Universe 2015.
In the final night, all the contestants danced to the song of Shatikila Bobo which was melodious and this song is definitely going to be in my playlist. Loved the slow and softness of the song. The stage was small and the choreography was just fine. Nothing great about it but I enjoyed it anyway. Contestants showed their dancing skills, walked the stage in their traditional wears, sizzles in swimsuit and looked spectacular in Evening gown.
Then, top 15 were chosen and then top 5 who had to face the dreaded Question and Answer round before they could be crowned as the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria. All the 37 ladies were cut down to 15 and I must say they were shining like a star in their colourful evening gowns.
The Top 15 were Miss Anambra, Miss Edo, Miss Bauchi, Miss Abuja, Miss Osun, Miss Borno, Miss Ekiti, Miss Ebonyi, Miss Cross River, Miss Benue, Miss Zamfara, Miss Delta, Miss Nasarawa, Miss Kano and Miss Katsina.
The last round i.e., Question and Answer round had 5 states chosen from the top 15 and they were Miss Ebonyi, Miss Abuja, Miss Bauchi, Miss Edo and Miss Anambra. Two things that really impressed me in this round was the ladies confidence and the ease with which they answered their questions. All the top 5 were so intelligent and straight to the point. It must have been very difficult for the judge to pick a winner. These days in every pageant during the interview round, we see 2-3 girls who answered well among the top 5 or top 7. That wasn’t the case here, all the ladies in this contest were brilliant and quick-witted. I am sure they will nail the interview round at their respective international pageants.
The Top 5 finalists questions with their answers
If crowned, what would be your greatest contribution to the society?
If I was crowned I would love to invest in children. I believe that educated children make a great country and reading culture should be emphasized with our children. Also, children’s health is very very important. They cannot afford medical help and the allowance that they can’t pay to the doctors, so I would rather focus on children.
